Welcome to the website of this covenant body! We are part of the historic Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church , formed in 1782 with the American merger of the Associate and Reformed Presbyterians from Scotland. As one of the first truly American churches organized after the War of Independence, the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church emphasizes creedal conservatism, democracy, fierce loyalty to the Bible, and a balance of local church devotion to connection and freedom.

Reformed to the Core -  Q&A with our member Joey Carter

Please define what it means to be “Reformed to the Core”:

Being Reformed is about celebrating the sovereignty of God in salvation, in family and friendships, in worship, and in life.  All of the contexts culminate into a worldview rooted in a rich heritage of Christianity.  While self-consciously affirming the core of our theology within a vibrant Scottish Presbyterian tradition, we are readily applying these age-old affirmations in the everyday concerns of our lives.  Doctrine never trumps practice just as practice never trumps doctrine.  Thus our church is centered on teaching and practicing how to honor God while staying true to a rich history of proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the focus of all life.  All in all, we seek to never be stagnant because ‘The Reformed church is always reforming.’

Who in the CSRA would be our target audience for this Key Idea?

People who are looking for a faith rooted in something concrete, such as those who see a lack of grounding in modern evangelicalism:

1.      Young adults who want more content to their faith;

2.      Families who want more than just programs for their children, but an environment which fosters authentic Christian growth and maturity;

3.      Older senior adults who enjoy and appreciate the orderly way we as ARPs go about our business in a mature and responsible context which flows from the Reformed way of life.

What do you think is the best way to get our message to the target audience?

Radio announcements, placing flyers or handouts in key locations around the CSRA such as Augusta State University, Augusta Tech, etc.  Or coffee shops.
