We Believe:
|
|
The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church shares the essential Christian beliefs
common to other conservative Protestant Churches. All true believers in Jesus Christ
are recognized as part of Christ's universal Church, and our denomination cooperates
with other Christians and their churches to advance the Kingdom of God. The Associate
Reformed Presbyterian Church's doctrinal statement is the Westminster Confession
of Faith along with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.

Who We Are:
|
We took the time to define our character in the community of God’s people. This
is who we are:
- Christians Committed to the Reformed understanding of the faith as identified
in our church’s confessional statements.
- We are committed to worshiping God in
a reverent liturgical manner that focuses on the glorification of God and the participation
of His people in appropriate ways.
- In a harsh world, we would like to be thought
of as a congregation of friends. When we love one another – people see our God through
us.
- God’s promise is to His people and their children. This makes the children
covenantal members of the community of Christians. We then feel it is right for
the children to worship side by side with their parents, grandparents and all of
God’s people.

Our Denomination Teaches That:
|
- God is the Creator and Sovereign Ruler of the Universe.
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Savior and Lord of all God's covenant people.
- The Holy Spirit is the Enabler for the Christian life.
- The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the only rule of faith and practice.
- Salvation is solely by God's grace, a free gift to believers and not earned by any
human merit.
- The Ten Commandments are the summation of the duties of human beings to God and
to each other.
- Tithing and Family Worship are encouraged.
- Church government is by the "Presbyterian" system, from which we Presbyterians
take our name. As outlined in the New Testament, the churches are governed by Elders
and are served by Deacons. Both are elected in a democratic way by each congregation.
- The Sacrament of Baptism is administered to believers and their children. All forms
of Christian baptism are recognized, and a secondceremony is not administered to
those already baptized in other churches.
- Believers may join the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church by profession of faith,
reaffirmation of faith, or transfer of membership from another church or denomination.
